Banana Blueberries Oatmeal

I know many people who are very lazy to cook oatmeal for breakfast. They prefer to just shake some cereal into a bowl and then pour some milk on it and breakfast can be made in less than five minutes. If you can spend another ten minutes you can make a pretty nutritious breakfast! Trust me, if you want to live healthy and have a healthy heart, oats is the solution. Oats paired with fruits and almond milk makes one of the best healthy breakfast. These combination of ingredients are metabolism boosting, full of vitamins, antioxidants and fibre. The addition of fruits to your oats means you don’t have to add sugar or other sweeteners.

150 ml almond milk

100 ml water

50 g rolled oats

Pinch of salt (optional)

1 banana

60 g fresh blueberries

  1. Place almond milk, water and oats in a saucepan and cook over medium low heat until the oats are cooked. Take note that you should not cook on high heat as this action will evaporate the liquid faster and you need to top up with more almond milk or water for the oats to cook through.
  2. Remove from stove.
  3. Pour into serving bowl and served topped with sliced bananas and blueberries.
